WHATEVER YOU'RE LOOKING FOR IS NOT A PROBLEM . . .
Life of Lyr'k...
Lyr'k   (January 16th, 2012)
When choosing a entertainment/stage name in the music industry
one should always pick a name that describes them in a manner to
which is memorable & meaningful. Sensual, seductive, singer/songwriter
Lyr'k has not only chosen a name which is eternally tied to her career, but
is one that defines her so well. After listening to some of her material, I knew
that I was listening to a future icon & star. The words written & sung by her
will remind you that the power of "Lyr'ks" can change your life for a better.

What do you feel your best asset is?
I believe that my best asset is my personality. I'm always a very
understanding person. I also will give you a straight forward answer
or opinion. I value the integrity that I keep as a woman. But physically,
I feel that my best asset is my eyes...

What do you like most about the music industry & what is one of your pet peeves
that you would like to change about the stigma of the music industry?

Well, one thing that I absolutely LOVE about the industry is that a lot of genres are starting to accept
& respect one another. A lot of songs nowadays can be categorized into more than one genre as well,
& an artist can do what they feel to a certain extent. Another thing that I really appreciate is that you
have to do a lot more as an artist to be respected. You have to do much more of your own 'footwork'
to get a buzz going. But, the internet has definitely made that very reachable.

One thing that gets under my skin, is the whole Darkskinned/Lightskinned war going on. Honestly, I'm proud
to be on #teamdarkskinned. There are beautiful Darkskinned women out here.

If you had a time machine would there by anything you'd like to change in your past
or would you like to peek into your future?
I don't think I would like to peek into the future, nor would I like to change anything in the past,
but if I had a time machine, I would definitely put it to good use. I would love to travel through
the early & mid 90's when everyone wore big hair & 'dookie' braids. R&B & Rap used to be colorful
& 'up in your face'. I would also like to go back & watch Billy Holiday do a set.

Do you go by your govt name or socialite(entertainment) name and how did it come about?
Lyr'k, I go by Lyr'k. I love my govt name, because I'm actually named after my maternal grandmother. It's kind
of a trend in our family. Everyone is named after someone else in one form or another. But I decided on the
name Lyr'k because I sat down one day & really thought about the sole aspect of music that moves me.
Yes, the melody is definite factor, as with all aspects of the music. But, at the end of the day, I need a song
that speaks to me. I need a song that actually says something. When I seriously write, whether poem, short
story, or song, the Lyr'ks have to be moving. They mean the most to me in any piece. I spelled it the way I did
so Google wouldn't confuse me when someone looked me up!".

What type of influence or wow factor do you aim at when creating new material or performing on stage?
I want people to feel like I'm singing directly to them. Kind of like when the preacher is preaching, God sends the word through him,
& it fits your situation? Well, when I'm singing to a crowd, I want everyone in the audience to know that I'm preaching (singing) directly
to them. I want my fans to know that God has sent this gift to me for you all to enjoy.

How can people reach you & find out more of what's going on in your world?
